THE VINEYARD
The Fruit of the Earth and the Work of Man
THE VINEYARD
The vineyard is the beating heart of our Vedova Tarcisio winery: here, nature and human effort come together to create unique wines that capture the full complexity and authenticity of the Valdobbiadene Hills.
It is no coincidence that wine has always been defined as “the fruit of the land and human labor.” We firmly believe that the quality of each wine is inseparable from the vineyard from which its grapes come.
For generations, our family has cultivated vines in Valdobbiadene, particularly in Saccol, with additional plots in San Pietro di Barbozza and San Giovanni. These areas are historically recognized among the most suitable in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG denomination.
From the separate vinification of each vineyard, our Valdobbiadene DOCG wines are born: two classic versions obtained from a blend that varies each year according to the vintage, and two single-vineyard selections: our Valdobbiadene DOCG “Sui Lieviti,” produced from grapes of our oldest vineyard, Croset, and the prestigious Valdobbiadene DOCG Superiore di Cartizze, from a single vineyard in the heart of the denomination’s most celebrated microzone.
The extraordinary quality of our grapes comes from a unique combination of factors: rich and complex soils, varied microclimates, ancient vines, some over a century old, minor native grape varieties, and high clonal biodiversity. To this natural heritage is added the skilled hand of man, who has cultivated these hills for centuries, creating a perfect balance between tradition and territory.
It is from this combination of nature, history, and passion that the uniqueness of our Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is born.
Sustainability and Heroic Viticulture
Starting with the 2020 vintage, the Center for Research, Studies, Safeguarding, Coordination and Valorization for the Viticulture of Mountains (CERVIM) recognized our vineyards as part of Heroic Viticulture. Our vines are cultivated on steep slopes, where every task, from winter pruning to harvest, can only be done by hand, requiring far more effort than on flat terrain.
The Value of Heroic Viticulture
Being part of this group of winemakers means defending and enhancing a unique heritage: the heroic vineyards of Valdobbiadene. Here, daily labor is not only effort but an act of love for the land and a commitment to protecting a landscape that has made some of Italy’s greatest wines inimitable.

With the aim of further elevating the quality of our grapes, starting with the 2020 vintage, our winery has obtained SQNPI certification, which certifies and guarantees that all of our vineyards are conducted following a very restrictive, low-impact viticultural protocol.
Ours is therefore an integrated and reasoned viticulture, which allows us to combine the advantages of different methods of vineyard control and management to achieve the goal of having an increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly production chain.

Beginning with the 2020 vintage, moreover, the Center for Research, Studies, Safeguarding, Coordination and Valorization for Mountain Viticulture (CERVIM) has recognized our Valdobbiadene DOCGs as coming from vineyards on extreme slopes, where all cultivation practices, from winter pruning to harvesting, must by necessity be carried out by hand with a consequent use of much more hours of labor and effort than on the plains.
We have thus become part of that group of Italian winemakers who work under the regime of Viticoltura Eroica, that is, those who are the first to commit themselves every day with their work to the protection, preservation and enhancement of these extraordinary heroic vineyards, which have made many of Italy’s greatest wines unique and inimitable.
